Talk - ‘Blood, sweat and tears – Practical insights into spirituality
and artistic practice’ af Karen Vestergaard Andersen

TALK
Karen Vestergaard Andersen dele refleksioner over den manglende
spirituelle diskurs i samtidskunsten.

Talk - ‘Blood, sweat and tears – Practical insights into spirituality
and artistic practice’ - by Karen Vestergaard Andersen

TALK
In correlation to the exhibition Omen, art historian and curator Karen
Vestergaard Andersen will share reflections on the lack of spiritual
discourse in the contemporary artworld. By delving into different
practice forms foregrounding the spiritual as an integral part of art
(and exhibition) making, we are probed to question; how do we make it
visible that it is an integral part of artistic practice? And what
kind of changes arise in collaborations and projects following the
consolidation of art making and spiritual and esoteric knowledge and
practice?

ARTIST TALK
LM Salling’s work centers around the darker and more introverted sides of the human mind and soul, exploring with equal parts humor and graveness the feelings of otherness and existential disorder and chaos.
In the series of works exhibited at OMEN, Salling relates directly to their current experience of living with long-term concussion, examining how trauma to the brain can alter sensory perception of reality and disrupt the threshold separating mind and body.

Dina Lundvall Nielsen scratches the surface and conjures images from the unconscious, with the help of therapeutic methods such as active imagination. For this exhibition, she works with reliefs on the surface of industrial plasterboard. Dina works with text, graphics and sculpture. She is currently studying at Vedfeltinstituttet to become a psychotherapist.

Artist talk and talk will be in English.
