We warmly invite you to an Art Walk and Artist Talk in connection with artist Sara Hagin's handover of her site-specifics art works, created during the art project 𝐷𝑒 8 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑠ø𝑣𝑛 𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑟 12 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑟 for and with the NICU at Aalborg Universitetshospital Nord. The event is free and open to all.
With a focus on the parents' own resources and self-care, Sara Hagins created a peer-to-peer forum to pass on knowledge from and to parents who have experience from NICU in a series of creative workshops in 2023 and 2024. Hagins shares her thoughts on creating these artworks for the NICU, which are embroidered with knowledge, thoughts, hopes and advice from parents with NICU experience for those currently in the NICU.

The walk will start at the entrance to Aalborg Universitetshospital Nord on Reberbansgade.
We will follow the same route around the hospital that many NICU parents take when they need to get some fresh air during their difficult time at the NICU. At three carefully selected spots along the route, each piece of artwork will be displayed and discussed. The walk will conclude with the artist handing over the artworks, consisting of unique embroidered and sewn baby quilts, an incubator cover, and a bed tent, to the NICU, together with everyone attending the event. Coffee/tea and cake will be served in the foyer to the NICU on the 12th floor.

The event is part of Lim Artist Placement - exploring new formats of collaboration between healthcare, artists and care communities. The art project is generously supported by the Danish Art Foundation, Den Jyske Kunstfond, Trygfonden, Huset i Hasserisgade and Region Nordjylland, while the Art Walk & Talk is supported by Aalborg Kommune.
The exhibition is curated by Laila Lund Altinbas. Graphic design by Kamilla Mez.
