TEXT

Ormetid - En soloudstilling af kunstnerduo Consider to be Allies

På ferniseringsdagen aktiveres tekstil skulpturerne i udstillingslokalet i performancen The Relation Ship.

English:

The exhibition Wormtime Consider to be Allies explores the idea of wormholes, time travel and parallel universes. and invites the viewer to take a detour through the universe to other perspectives and possible realities.

In Wormtime, science fiction and scientific theories about alternate universes are used to challenge the individual's perception of reality. In the exhibition space, Consider to be Allies creates an installation that combines two large textile sculptures with enlarged pink worms that enter through wormholes in the surfaces of the room. The installation is complemented by a sound work that invites visitors on a meditative journey through the wormhole.

In the station's foyer, a Brainworm of 15 posters combines drawings, found images, photographs and notes in a collage that offers insight to the thoughts and research that informs the exhibition as a whole.
The exhibition draws threads to pop cultural phenomena such as the multiverse and theories of metaphysics and modal realism. Reality seems to expand in all directions, yet the individual's universe seems to be shrinking. These are topics that the artists themselves try to work on in a tactile and playful way, creating a wormhole between the intangible and the down-to-earth.

On the opening day, the textile sculptures in the exhibition room are activated in the participatory performance The Relation Ship.
With the help of the audience, they unfold into a space of opportunity for collective play and storytelling.
Through a shared choreography, the audience is taken through Wormtime, where the sculpture can become anything from a spaceship to a cave, a portal or a black hole. The performance is dependent on participants and it is the shared action that connects the individual with the collective experience. In the exhibition space, you can see a documented version of the performance The Relation Ship, performed in collaboration with highschool students from Nørre Gymnasium.
